Vanbursta Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Can somebody please tell me how to remove the passenger side exterior rear view mirror glass (can't seem to find any details anywhere. Thanks Quote
music43 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 They are only clipped onto the mirror motor. Try to get you fingers behind the mirror glass (you can do this by moving the mirror glass in toward the car) then pull gently and evenly. They come off quite easily and clip back on just as easily. adrianf. Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Or you could do what i normally do....find i nice branch sticking out of a hedge and drive past too close. That seems to get them out quite well Quote
Vanbursta Posted August 23, 2006 Author Report Posted August 23, 2006 Or you can do what the Haynes says and use a Garden Spade and a bit of carpet!!! Actually a Royal Mail van helpfully removed the glass for me, I snapped it back in (the mirror not the mail van - and no the glass didn't break) but something is wrong now as it vibrates like mad (and its rattling and driving me barmy!!). So I have got to take it out again and fix whatever is causing the "wobble". Quote

Vanbursta Posted August 23, 2006 Author Report Posted August 23, 2006 Perhaps I shouldn't mention the fact that I also managed to break the drivers side as well, this was because I thought there might be a spring (or something else) that had fallen out and tried to remove the drivers side glass to double check and compare. The only good thing today is that Ford actually had BOTH sides in stock! In case anyone is interested Quote
