Would an exhaust fail an MOT if it had an exhaust bandage on it ?

(The hole was big enought to put my little finger through it)

 

Mines due up in a couple of months and was wondering if i needed to start saving now.

As long as it not blowing I dont think it will fail a MOT

the "book" states that no exhaust gasses should escape throughout the exhaust system other than the end pipe - as far as i am concerned it can be held together with paper mache and it would pass at my local garage as lomg as there is no blowing

Then again, I replaced the exhaust system from the Cat onwards.

If its a 2000 onwards TDi & the mid section thats knackered

 

I currently have a Front Pipe, Cat & Mid section for it

The hole is in the mid section after the cat so looking at the price Bagpuss paid maybe not as bad as expected.
