opifi Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 morning guys has any body heard of an ecotek valve, any experiance good or bad, also is there any options out there for tuning 2.3 petrol motors(auto).cheers. :D Quote
VeeDub Nutter Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Ecotek - I bought one, and fitted it to my 1.8 Golf a few years ago. In hindsight i must have been blinded by the advertising, cos it made no difference to the performance or the economy! The only thing it did achieve was to add a little hiss when you took your foot off the gas.In my humble opinion save your money. :D :D :D Quote
sepulchrave Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Don't be so humble veedub! Ecotek is a total waste of money and a scam for gullible muppets. There I said it. :D The 2.3 is not a good engine and although any engine can be improved using time honoured head mods, raising compression, chipping etc. You will find it difficult to find any conventional tuning parts, and any work you want done will have to be done to your head so you'll be without the car for a few weeks. If you're still determined try specialised engines in grays, essex. They have an excellent rep. for ford engine mods. Or maybe Turbo Technics will blow it for you. Otherwise flog it, buy a VR6 and off you go, loads of goodies available for VR6 tuning, 250 BHP is easily achievable without forced induction! Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Ecotek One word Shite! Another waste of money, better buying a K&N or Jetex panel filter to be honest! Quote
