katman Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 The accident happened in the early hours of Monday when a people carrier with six people in it left the motorway and went down an embankment Sad story, my thoughts are with the victims. Very sad indeed. I wonder if the cause was either tiredness or being under the influence of something as they were returning from a festival and there doesnt seem to be any other vehicle involved. There was a really bad accident on the A12 a few weeks ago when 4 teenagers returning from a concert in Ipswich were killed in a pileup in the early hours. I noticed on the front of the local paper today that two of the girls killed got the highest exam results in the sixth form. Quote
seatkid Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 A very sad story. It appears to be a Zafira and from the damage it looks like it rolled. As people were thrown from the vehicle it looks likely some of the passengers were not wearing their seat belts. Forum members please note: EVERYONE including passegers should wear their seatbelt at all times. Wearing your seatbelt at all times is likely to save your life. I KNOW FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. It has saved me in a head-on. Quote
familyman Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 :) tiredness while driving is a real danger as it just creeps up on you ,especially at night when roads are usually empty -ALWAYS take plenty of breaks ,have a coffee and walk around to get some fresh air,and keep the heating down as that warm car acts as a giant sleeping bag! Guest HairyPlateEater Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006   Je-sus ... I started shaking and having flashbacks to 2 weeks ago reading this! Made me realise even more just how lucky me and the kids were! Seatbelts certainly do play a big part. Thoughts most definately with their families  Quote
