Electronic Aircon Unit Removal On A 99 2.3?

Dear Al,

 

I'd be very grateful if anyone could advise on how best to remove the above unit from the central dash on my 99 2.3 Ghia X Please? I have removed the audio unit & have located the long spring clip underneath the unit & depressed it. At this point the unit is supposed to slide out, however it does not. Am I missing something?
