my galaxy wont start . 1.9 tdi lx 90 bhp chipped to 115 bhp . if the coil light flashes on the dash then the car starts , when the coil light doesnt come on the car just cranks , intermittent fault pain in the bum help pleeeease :ph34r:

is there any difference in what the door led does in the two situations ??

The door led will flash a code...like wen you lock the car..or start the car...mine does... -_- ..it sort of looks like morse code..if i didnt know any better i think mine is flashing SOS!! :unsure:

Likely causes:

1) Faulty brake light switch, causing the coil flashing symbol - ECU thinks that no fuel is required as you are braking;

2) Immobiliser fault

3) Fuel pump and/or relay fault, meaning that there is not always fuel being supplied

4) Intermittent wiring fault somewhere

 

I'd be tempted to change the brake light switches first (wonder if disconnecting the wires would help - anyone know if they are simple make-and-break or more complex?)

just a big thank you to all that helped with my tdi wont start , ended up being a relay at fault under dash .... thank you :D :D
