I have a Mk2 Galaxy Zetec 1.9 TDi (115) with the standard front and back parking sensors.

Does anyone know if you can fit a towbar (removeable or otherwise) and if so does it set the sensors off?

Thanks

Hi The best option is to go for the detachable towbar but thease tend to be more expensive. I fitted an ordinary flange type one to mine and found that by bending the electric socket foward a bit i got away with not setting the sensors off. I have since fitted a cycle rack bracket and a spacer plate but had to fix the socket under the bumper a bit as the sensors were just catching it. I also put some black tape over the middle two sensor as they were being a bit tempermentle with the socket at times, this didnt make any difference to the use of the outer two as they seem to be ample for judging when reversing

Hope this helps

Hoping this post is still alive. I have the same car. It came with a detachable towbar (thanks.) I need to buy a 4 bike cycle rack. Do you think the weight will be an issue? and also: It feels like there is a fitted socket up behind the bumper, Does that sound right? and if so how do I access it? Does it drop down on a hinge? Or do you just attach as is?

Hope someone out there is listening...

Thanks
