Guest samdodd Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I recently had to change my car battery so I lost all information stored for my radio. I have been trying to enter the keycode using the code provided with the manual but when I press 5 to confirm the code it give a me a 30 minute countdown, I have tried this 5 times now and keep getting the same response!!! Am I doing something wrong, could this be the wrong code? It is a 6000cd model if this helps.Any ideas would be great. Quote

I have exactly the same problem with the same model and I'm told by Ford's my keycode correctly matches the serial number. Any ideas as to why this is happening??? Quote

The correct sequence is to toggle the 1 button until the first digit displayed is correct, then the 2 button for the second digit, etc Once the LCD display shows the correct code, press 5 You dont just tap the code in using the numbers like a calculator - that would be too easy! Yes I'm definitely putting the code in correctly. Although the unit was not properly flush with the dash fascia. Just pressed it this morning and heard a spring loaded part click into place, shall try again later today. I've heard disconnecting the unit from all power for over 24 hours sometimes works? Probably a stupid question but should the unit be completely locked into place before the keycode is accepted? Is this a function of the 6000CD player head unit? The other change is a scotch connector on the orange/black back light power wire of the unit to my trip computer which I installed yesterday, can't see how this would affect it though! Quote
croc86 Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Ok...part of the problem has been solved...the previous owner replaced the head unit and didn't write down the CORRECT pin as the serial number is different to that written down by Ford's! So with that in mind my serial number for my Ford 6000 CD is now M183840. Would someone please, please, please tell me what the keycode is for this??? Many thanks people! Quote
big_kev Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 So with that in mind my serial number for my Ford 6000 CD is now M183840. Didn't someone report that CD/Radio as stolen a while back ? Quote
gregers Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 naughty big kev but funny im afraid its not the done thing to ask for the unlocking codes, unless someone wants to pm you with the code do not expect it to be posted on an open forum, now you could try googling it to see what gets thrown up  Quote
