Guest Moody1 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Can anyone help explain what this pipe is for? When I got my Gal, 96 P plate, there was a broken (I think) breather pipe, next to the air filter, so got 1 the new pipe and 2, had too get the unit the pipe goes into. (Turns out there made by Volvo) The breather pipe has a plug in it that was plugged into a "blank" socket, but the new pipe has a live socket, but I have no idea what this socket is for. When I asked the main dealer mech what it was for, he looked long and hard at it, went pale and said..............Not a clue. Any help will be appriciated. Quote
NikpV Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 air intake from airfilter through MAF (with wires plugged in) I guess - what model car ?? Put details in your sig - see mine for link :D Quote
Guest 3.5bullet Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 what model car ?? well from the large CD- embossed on the engine cover and the five plug leads on show :) I'd say it was a VR6 :D as for what we're looking at? it's the breather valve from the engine, the spare plug in the picture is usually just left hanging! or plugged into a blank socket, as to what it's for? it's used on some other models over seas or in other vehicles in which the VR6 is used, what it does? no one seems to know :D Quote
