I have just bought this 96 galaxy glx 2.8 v6, the previous owner had changed the clocks due to the abs light not working, this and all other dash lights now work, but the guages dont, ford have said the car needs plugging in at a cost of

I would check that BOTH cables are plugged in to the back of the clocks, one takes care of the lighting / warning lights and the other does the speedo rev counter and display. Only takes 2 minutes and costs nothing.

there is only one plug, a big red one! there is no other cable and no other socket on the cluster.
