Guest lloyder Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Bought a new Galaxy in April, have done about 2500 miles so far in it and am loving it so far. Over the weekend the Service indicator has shown up, saying the car needs servicing in 500 miles. I thought the 1st service wasn't scheduled until 10,000 miles or 1st year? Any ideas Quote

Guest HairyPlateEater Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Could be that the car was manufactured around a year ago, even though you only got it in April. In which case the service indicator will show as 12 months has nearly passed since it was activated. Quote
funbus Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 this may help you with service schedules, what's included etc: http://www.etis.ford.com/fordservice/serviceScheduleForm.do Quote
NikpV Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 thats a useful link funbus - I'll put it in the links section when I can get a moderator to unlock the thread Quote

From looking at that other link it seems that the 1st service should be 10,000 miles or 1 year Quote
jwilliams Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 There is a bit in the handbook about how to reset the service indicator. I haven't got mine with me but think it is a button in the glovebox Quote

I think you can pay money to get access to other technical info on that ETIS site about all sorts of repairs etc, if you really want to! But the service details bit is free :D Quote
NikpV Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I've put it in the useful links section :D Quote

Clutching at straws I know but that's my theory and I'm sticking to it lol :D Quote
