marinabrid Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 hi again all , the wifes 98 year 110 afn have noticed over the last few months that whereas befrore it seemed to start on the touch of the key from cold or when hot it now seems to crank over for a fair while before firing when hot, seems ok cold so she tell me. anything common to look at first ? i would have thought it should start easier when hot as the glow plugs arnt in use or are they in use when hot Quote
Vince Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I think you will find that even in 'hot' weather the glow plugs still do quite a bit of work, so look there first in my opinion. Vince. Quote

Dave-G Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I seem to recall seeing something on this forum about glow plug activation as you unlock the car. A clever idea, since most times you do so will be followed by an engine start. If the eventual start is also a bit lumpy for a few seconds I too would look to a glow plug. Quote
