keith9534 Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Hi I may be fitting a modulator type cd changer to my galaxy (Don`t ask...long story....I already own one, and I want to keep the orginal stereo....I can`t find a Ford changer to fit......etc) Can anyone tell me if there will be a problem with the "powered aerial" in the car...ie I read that the window aerial was powered from the ford stereo. If this is the case, how have people got around this when they have fitted an aftermarket radio? Does it still work? Quote

It doesn`t exactly "broadcast" Fm as that would be illegal under the wireless telegraphy act......it just goes inline with your aerial lead and "adds" the CD sound via a frequency.....usually 97.3 or so.....without power you will receive normal radio stations....power the CD/Modulator and it adds in!
