Which Wheels

hello, i have a v-reg 2.3i auto ghia-x galaxy. it has on it 16inch alloys that are skufted ,one because of my curbing two because of the shape. my question is i want to change these for other original galaxy alloys but im not sure of which types i can use, i have read on this forum about the newer wheels (on mk2) are not able to be used, do i have to use 16 inch wheels can i use 15 inch? i have seen a couple of galaxys of the same age as mine that have newer type wheels that i have seen on the newer shape is this possible?

think you can use the mk2 type wheels providing you use the mk2 wheel bolts aswell.

but dont just take my word for it,would hate for your wheels to fall off!

cant use the 15" wheels as yours has different discs on the front hence the use of 16" wheels

and mk2 wheels do fit mk1 with out trouble :D

thanks for your help, basically i can use the new wheels but i need to change the wheel bolts, i think ive got it now. thanks for your help.

i have seen these can i use them with newer bolts? or will my bolts be ok?

With the newer bolts they should be ok as they look like the facelift ghia wheels.

Hi Fatbloke,

 

You can't use those wheels, as we had those wheels which were 18's on our Mondeo Zetec-S and wondered if we could put them on a Galaxy. We were told that the stud PCD (diameter) on a galaxy is 5 x 112 and those wheels are a 5 x 108. So they won't fit I'm afraid.

hi these wheels are listed on ebay as 16" for ford galaxy, so im asuming there for the face lift model

please excuse my stupidity..but these are alloys????..the word rim confuses me as i thought rims were ones you clipped on??????

Different wheels for Mondeo

 

If they are 16" then WILL fit Mk1 with Mk2 studs. Been covered many times before.

 

Mk2 studs are longer because outside edge of wheel where studs go is slightly further away from hubs. Mk2 studs allow for this, mk1 studs dont. PCD is same for mk1 as for mk2

yes, these are Alloy's, Rims, Wheel trims are what you clip onto steel wheels to make them look nice :lol:

Well i emailed the guy and the wheels came off a mkII face lift one. 51 plate.

 

 

hi mate the tyres are 215/55 16 the wheels and tyres came off a 2001 model (51 reg)
