sanjsanj Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 I never knew that different tyres make a different amont of noise when driving at around 40 mph plus.....now that i do know, before i change my tyres, I would like to know your comparisons....i.e if you've changed at least two tyres in the same go, to the same make, did you notice an increase or decrease in road noise? Please state: old makenew makewhether old or new was/is quieter. Thanks! p.s how much tread depth does a brand new tyre have? Quote
sparky Paul Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Was on Dunlop SP2020E 215/55x16 reinforced all round, recently changed front two to Fortuna F2000. Dunlops very noisy indeed, Fortunas are every bit as grippy and much quieter - even the other half couldn't believe the difference. I would highly recommend them, especially at the price. Tread depth on a new tyre is generally 8mm. Quote
