Guest bigal Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Well tomorrows the day to pick the Galaxy up, cant wait. I have ordered parts from Ford garage, inner door handles, drivers and passenger side as the others look shabby(are these easy to fit?) and also new Ford badges etc. The only thing Ford couldnt get was the rubber mats, apparently there are none in european stock and i would have to order them specially and pay up front. Does anyone know of somewhere else i can get the mats, prefer the Ford rubber ones? Anyway roll on tomorrow, I think a ride to the coast may be in order, after i've had the new tyres fitted. Cheers Alex :D Quote
adrianf. Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I know you can get the mats on ebay but not sure of the quality. Quote
Guest bigal Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Picked up car today :P Really like it, took it for a ride to the coast was a bit nervous about the auto gearbox but soon got used to it, the tip control is really good. Its probably not as comfy as the passat but will get used to that as well. The ride quality is really good and it handles corners well for a big car. It didnt come with a manual though, but everything seems quite straight forward. Only a couple of things that i didnt like the first was that the cruise control doesnt work (assuming you just press the button on the end of the stalk?) Looks like it may be the infamous hose on the pump. Also found out the 2.3 is a thirsty sod used half a tank to do 180 miles :35: I am going to replace front and rear badges tomorrow and the interior handles (if Fraud dealer has ordered the right colour this time) Has anyone changed these bfore, if so how is it done. I asked the dealer about mats, he says he has had ah customer waiting 2 months for mats for their fiesta.I might order the carpet ones of ebay and get some rubber ones later. Quote
mumof4 Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 The interior handles are held on with clips..they just pop out!you have to take the rounded bit off first..(where your fingers would grip underneath)...I am assumeing you are talking about the handles on the doors??? Quote

Thanks mum of 4, it is the handles on the door. do you mean underneath the handle or the inside? Cheers Alex Quote
NikpV Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 between the handle and the door card as mo4 says under your fingertips as you grip the handle, I think you prise then up from the inner bottom edge - glad you like the car :35: Quote
