jwilliams Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Looks like the previous owner mashed the part of the centre air vent closest to the driver. Took car into the dealers who replaced the vent free of charge but it seems there are parts of the old one somewhere in the system. I am concerned they could block or damage something and would like to remove them. I have no idea where they may be lodged but sometimes hear them rattling around when the air flow is set to max. Any ideas??? Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 vents are easy to take out just remove the trim below the vents, and they unclip the trim might fill like it dont want to move ,but it does with a good pull Quote
jwilliams Posted August 10, 2006 Author Report Posted August 10, 2006 Not sure I will be able to get to the bits through the vent. Is there any way of accessing the ducting? There again a five year old may be able to get an arm in!!! Quote
El Dingo Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Get a powerful vacuum cleaner and some windscreen washer pipe. Hold the washer pipe in the hose of the vacuum cleaner and push the other end down the vents. This will pick up the pieces. If you have a *really* powerful industrial vac, you might not even need the washer pipe. Just turn the other vents off, put the fan on full and hold the vacuum cleaner hose over the offending vent. On the Mk2 the vents are just levered out (carefully). Quote
