Guest kobald Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 All Could someone please confirm that the clock mounted in the roof console above the windscreen should illuminate when it gets dark. I've had the Galaxy a while now and can't fault it except for the fact that when it gets dark I can't see the time. I don't believe the clock doesn't have a light, if it is a fault has anyone had similar and how was it fixed? Argon  Quote
Guest Boggler Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I've got the same problem but a friend of mine has just bought a Galaxy and he had the problem. However he replaced a bulb ( Quote
Guest kobald Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Thanks for the info, I had carefully tried easing out the clock but was worried about damaging something I'll give it another go now I know its possible. Quote
Guest shackers Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Boggler is correct and you can get the bulbs in all good car accessory shops.. there is a correct name for the bulb but it escapes me at the moment. It's the same they have always used for instument Illumination, they have a type of plastic jacket around them and the bulb pertrudes from within... turn it clockwise... Use two small flat bladed screwdrivers, use a piece of meterial at the end of the driver, it saves damage. Obviously if your not confident get someone else to do it..... shackers Quote
Guest kobald Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 I found the right bulb at my local garage Quote
Guest tlee Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Can anyone help me? I have a similar problem, but I am lacking illumination on my dash-mounted analogue clock on a post 2000 model. How easy is it to get the clock out and where do I prise/squeeze it? :( Quote
chromedome Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Yeah done mine the other week. I dismantled a wooden clothes peg, the ones with the spring on, and then used the two pieces to prise the clock out of the dashboard. Because the peg is wooden it don't damage the dash. It's a panel lamp and just twists a quarter turn anti-clockwise to release. The bulb cost Quote
chromedome Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 I forgot to mention, you prise the clock out with the two peg pieces, one by the nine and one by the three. Quote
Danny Boy Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I have got a blown bulb behind my fuel gauge on the dash, how easy are these to change or is it best to just leave me skwinting in the dark at it?? :( Quote
Guest tlee Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Thanks Chromedome, clock lamp replaced succesfully yesterday. If anyone wants to know for future referebce the lamp is a 509T and Halfords will charge you Quote
