I've just replaced all four tyres on my Galaxy. Both rears were close to their wear limit and the two front had worn over approximately 1 - 2" on their inboard shoulder with the N/S having worn significantly more than the O/S. The car's MOT is due up in a couple of weeks so the job had to be done.

I assumed the front tyre wear was caused by a tracking fault and arranged with the garage who were changing the tyres to sort the tracking out at the same time. However, when they set the equipment up on the car, and checked it, the tracking was bang on!

As I've stated in another post, the front struts, TRE's, ball joints etc were all changed last year so the front end is pretty solid.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Regards

Going round too many roundabouts,

or "crabbing"? Did you have a full geometry check - front, back and front-to-rear alignment?

...or was the "offending" tyre afflicted by a slow puncture so it was underinflated much of the time?

Tyres pressures checked every couple of weeks. Only other thing that has come to mind is the fact that I have to apply full RH lock when reversing off my drive at slow speed.

A bit of a puzzle, then. I have same problem of full rh lock when reversing from my drive. As far as I'm aware, Gal wears its tyres out fairly evenly.

How many miles had the fronts done?

I've recently had this same problem and was told it was down to the heavy load of the car along with the constant heavy locking whilst turning.... Perhaps it's something you have to put up with, but it cost me
