Guest thecodfly Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 after all the problems i have had with galaxy, i ended up with a leaking tyre valve, when putting in air, here we go i thought, the spare wheel aint going to come down, but lo and behold it worked fine, just thought i would share that with you, ten minutes to change wheel, would say glad i invested in a new wheel nut spanner from b and q's for a fiverregards waine :( Quote
NikpV Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 they seem to work ok provided tension is kept whilst winding both up and down - wife had an RAC man change a tyre on a very steep slope in the lake district last year and he put a piece of cardboard on the floor and pulled the alloy wheel - dragging it by the winch to make sure that the wire was under tension while he wound the punctured tyre/wheel up (no room in the boot at the time) worked fine after :( Quote
Masked Marauder Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Since I first used my winch it was obvious that it's design was poor and it needed regular use and the wire keeping tight all the time. I wind it down and up once every 3 months. Waine, was it a telescopic one? If so keep it in the door pocket, the are great for road rage attackers! Quote
