Guest funkmiester Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Ive been reading a lot about people regassing air con with a can of R134A from Halfords. I would like to try this as my air con is pretty crap, but where do you refill it. I've had a look under the bonnet but cant really see anywhere to put the can. Thanks Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 The fill point is behind the driver's side indicator. Quote
Guest funkmiester Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Its not this lagged pipe with the little black cap is it Quote
Guest thecodfly Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 no dont use that one, i tried one of those cans from halfords, it did not work for me just made lots of hissing noise and emptied can, good luck Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 No, that is the high side, you need the low side, which is behind the indicator. Your connector should not fit onto the high side and if it did you would be sorry quick enough, as a can can be a bit sharp when fragmented and travelling in shrapnel sized chunks.... Quote
MrT Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 The Halfords cans have a score cut in the bottom so if they do overpressure the can will split there. I think the main reason for this would be if someone was foolish enough to leave a tin in the sun. Quote
roly1977 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 am i right in thinking on the mk 2 the low side is on the drivers side just above the alternator  Quote
