I have a Galaxy GLX 2.0l petrol from 1996.

a while ago the garage opened the bonnet as the cable was broken. With this they also programmed the key for the remote locking as this was not working.

Since then the battery is draining regulary with a result that the car doesn't start when you want to. The garage has already looked at it but they say it is not linked to one another.

I have tried the following to isolate the issue:

disconnected the central locking and alarm system underneath the passenger seat. this resolved the issue for a while, but then it came back again.

Then disconnected the radio, turned the fan off while car was parked. this resolved it for a while as well but it returned again.

battery was new half a year ago, and checked when problems started occuring (roughly 2 months ago). battery is also being charged when car is running. I checked that as well.

It seems to be more a problem when car is parked outside instead of inside, but there is no guarantee that it will work when parked in the garage.

I am not sure where to start with the investigation, but would somebody have an idea what this could be? or where to start with checking?

(btw ABS light and Airbag are constantly on as well)

regards

Eddy

I think you need either someone with VAG COM or to get your dealer to reset your ecu, disconnect abttery for 30 mins may resolve some of them as the ECU is not going in to "SLEEP" mode when the ignition is in the off position.

Will this resolve the battery draining issue as well?
