Global Opening/closing

I've only had my galaxy a few days and i'm still waiting for the handbook to arrive, sometimes when i lock or unlock the car the windows start opening and closing, after searching the forums i know this is called global opening/closing...but how exactly is it supposed to work?

 

Is there a way to switch this facility off? obviously the windows shouldn't open every time i unlock the car so is there a certain way to turn the key or something? i'm a it confused and one morning this week i found that the windows had opened by themselves during the night apparently..

 

any help would be greatly apreciated

global opening and closing is activated by the length of time you hold the key in the lock/open mode. turn the key to the open mode for a length of time and all the windows will open - vice versa.

 

you may want to check for water or water damage to the module in the passenger footwell as this could be the reason for the windows opening in the middle of the night

I concur, there is most likely damp or there has been damp in the controller.
