Dieselalhambra Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 1998 Seat Alhambra ABS light was on all of the time Car failed mot. From this forum found possible cause split abs ring, this was indeed the problem. Also ring is not supplied seperately. Having just bought a new cat and fitted new droplinks. was not to keen to have to buy new cv joint as it is not worn out. This is my fix- used 2 pack araldite to glue inner face of abs ring, to shaft and shoulder ,its a bit fiddly but can be done without stripping joint. Also by not stripping assemly allows to check ring rotates freely and that there is no glue in slots. Held ring together by hand until glue started to set. Then left 2/3 hrs ;) checking to see that ring is still tight on shaft and rotated freely. Took for a run then at 20 mph light went out. Now only comes on to test circuit. I don,t know how long it will last but I thought it was worth a try and car passed MOT retest. Maybe of some use to others willing to get sticky hands from glue. Quote
Guest 3.5bullet Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 but what happens when the glue fails at speed! Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 You lose your ABS and that is about all that would happen. Quote

morticiaskeeper Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 My ABS light came on last night. Went to the usual suspect - N/S sensor plug, but still faulty. Steam cleaned the car, went for a drive - fault gone! This morning - ABS light on again  Fault code read: 01276 ABS Hydraulic Pump (v64)16-10 Signal Outside Specification - Intermittent Can't find this code in my lists Quote
