chazhead Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Hi all Used the heated front & rear screen switches last night when driving in the rain, both turned on and turned themselves off when the screens had cleared. Went to use them this morning and neither switches will illuminate, am I missing somthing here or has somthing gone pop? Cheers. Quote

I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you a better answer, but on ours if you have the aircon switched on; then the front screen will not activate, not sure about the rear???Failing that then hopefully its just a blown fuse - sorry I don't know which one. I'm presuming that the engine is running while you are trying to activate them? mine only come on with the engine running, not when ignition is on the 1 or 2 position. (this is definitely the case for the front heated screen - not sure about the rear) Failing that, try the fuse as a first check ;) I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you a better answer, but on ours if you have the aircon switched on; then the front screen will not activate, not sure about the rear???Failing that then hopefully its just a blown fuse - sorry I don't know which one. Mk1s shouldn't prevent the heated screen being activated when the air con is on. Mk2s automatically activate the heated screen when the air flow is routed to the windscreen. Quote
chazhead Posted July 15, 2006 Author Report Posted July 15, 2006 Thanks for the replys. Engine is running but still no lights, will check fuses next just seems odd that they should both go when they run through two seperate fuses/relays. Wondered if there was a temp sensor or summit that stopped them coming on. Quote
Bigjeeze Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 My MK1 won't run both screens and the rear heater but other than that all works fine. Quote

Thanks Quote
chazhead Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 All sorted, 20 amp fuse, no. 9 in the central fuse box for future ref. Quote
