seatkid Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 1. Vacuum circuit - i.e. pipes and joints - you have a leak. 2. MAF Quote

Masked Marauder Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I doubt the problem lies with the vacuum circuit, why would it have less vacuum after 70ish miles? Could be a lot of things though including the manifold pressure sensor. I think this one is a VAG-COM job. Quote
Alhambra Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 have you added oil to the engine recently.... if its over full it could cause the ecu to go into "limp mode" which would shut down the turbo. Quote
Guest miket Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 thanks for your repliesI changed the MAF yesterday and covered about 95 miles with no turbo drop off, hope thats it?ATBMiket Quote
sanjsanj Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 if the turbo did "drop off", how would you know? Quote
Guest miket Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Its a nightmare if you are overtaking in the outside lane, no power at all, I drove back from France like it had to do about 90 downhill to get up the other side at about 30, lorries passing, caravans passing women pushing prams passing very very embarrassing.ATBMt Quote

I have had exactly the same problem. I have replaced the turbo unit, the Air Management Valve and the Air Mass sensor was replaced 2 years ago. I have re-booked it back into the ford dealer next week. The intermiitent loss on the turbo seems to be corrected, but there is now a loss of power at low revs. It may have to go into a diesal specialist if they cant find the fault. Quote
