greg_68 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 wow bro I got my second one this week too. Not too bothered on the first one as it was only for a fiver, but it worries me that you can sell something for hundreds of pounds via paypal and then months later have it potentially taken away by paypal. Isn't setting up a paypal account and being paid through paypal supposed to be secure and guaranteed......seems not. Quote
gregers Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 only if they have been verified so i have since found out,but im still searching Quote

Masked Marauder Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Unfortunately the feedback system does not take into account multiple purchases from sellers/buyers and has no respect to the value of the transactions. You can get great feedback scores by selling advice that you email for a penny etc. Then pretend to sell an expensive item and sucker them in.... Quote
mumof4 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 If you buy multiple items from one seller like i do...say 5 items, the seller leaves feedback for 5 items but the score is only one feedback.I have recieved 136 positive feedback but it only shows as 100 as i have bought multiple items from sellers. Guest BagPuss Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Still waiting for a DVD for our boy, 5 weeks on and it still hasn't turned up.I know the post from USA is slow but this it taking the piss. Emailed the guy 5 times and all he has said is Do what you have to do, so in other words go through PayPal to get my money back. The other thing that annoys me is that when you pay for something the seller should leave you feedback immediately, but surprise surprise they don't.It's always 'you leave us feedback and we'll do the same' WTF! So you might leave a neutral / negative reply and then they could slate you for paying immediately? As you would have done nothing wrong. Arghhhhhhhh!!!! Rant over. Quote
mumof4 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 Now on ebay there is this big thing as to who leaves feedback first....most sellers wait as if they leave pos fb first then they may get slated by the buyer for whatever reason.fb is not compulsary, you dont have to leave it...i had an email yesterday reminding me to leave fb for a seller!!..i wasnt impressed as you dont have to leave it.I leave fb when i am selling once i know the item has arrived safely, some sellers do leave it straight away..set up automatically. as for waiting 5 weeks..do a claim now..i had one sent and it took 5 days. Masked Marauder Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 I agree, when you have paid you have done your share of the deal and feedback should be left. It is clearly so they can leave bad feedback if you do in the hope that you will agree to remove it. I bought a CV joint, 4 weeks later it had not arrived. I had spent two weeks trying to get a hold of the seller. In the end I left bad feedback: "Over a month and no CV Joint. No answer to emails, phone or Skype calls. Avoid!" And I got the following put as negative feedback against me: "Way to hasty to leave negative feedback. Watch out for him." So the seller was saying that hearing nothing for four weeks is hasty! And this is for a car part! Surprise, surprise a few days later he asks to mutually withdraw the feedback! Which out of principle I refused to do. It is not me that people need to watch out for. mumof4 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 well done for not backing down...touch wood i have never yet had a major problem with ebay..apart from my new head unit!! Quote
greg_68 Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Well done MM, in the early days I used to worry about my feedback and would not leave deserved negative feedback in the fear that I would receive the same in return. Now I don't care about feedback I have soon realised that no one takes much notice anyway unless it is truly bad. You see traders with bad feedback still selling so peeps obviously don't care or don't check. Bagpuss, defo file a claim, it is amazing how it works within hours sometimes. Filed one on Thursady, paid within the hour. personally I leave feedback as soon as the person pays, as far as i am concerned they have kept their end of the deal. As yet only one negative feedback out of around 1100 sales. Some knob in the USA bought a PS2 game and thought it would play on his US format PS2. Left feedback saying it was a copy, which I was really miffed about that. Good luck MM and Bagpuss. Quote
