chesh100 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Hi again guy's n gal's, Just had the anti-roll/torque bar ( big bar under car that stops the engine twisting) snap again!!!! ;) Bolt sheared this time and took half the thread from the bar with it! I don't have a manual so :( ..... could one of you please tell me what the torque setting is for this item. My thanks in advance :( Chesh100 Quote
Guest 3.5bullet Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 the torque setting depends on the material your roll restrictor is made from? steel - 98NM aluminium - 70NM and then if you have an aluminium roll restrictor with an 88mm long bolt you tighten that one up to 60NM + 90 degrees :( Quote

Guest 3.5bullet Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 well it's 9.55 pm and i've just put my tools away :) yep the roll restrictor bolt snapped today! and i feel like crap! have major tooth ache and unable to get a emergency dental appointment! both batteries on the cars were flat this morning! both my fault :( had a set of flat pack funiture to build! and then the wife gets back from the inlaws and says the cars not driveing right? it's like it's being held back by a rubber band and then released when you pull away? so a quick look under the bonnet and diagnosed the problem with a quick flick of the throttle <_< any how did a real quick repair! started at 9.30 and finished the job in 25 minutes! can you tell i've done it before? no ramps just the standard jack and three sockets is all you need! i even had a replacement bolt on the shelf in the garage ready to go :D Quote
chesh100 Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 I know how you feel! Trying to get woodwork painted as a new carpet is due on Wednesday. Work interupted by visit to parents, can't fit all kids in small car!! chaos ensues!! Had to leave one behind!! Waiting to get new bolt (due in today), so thought I'd prepare vehicle n change ABS sensor whilst waiting for bolt. Had the first axle stand under car, jacking up to place second................. first stand collapses!!!!! <_< Got sensor changed in the end, now just waiting for bolt to fit tonight!! :( Quote
