Guest BagPuss Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Stick it on the rolling road and see how it performs 'Under load' That way they might be able to see any components breaking down or under strain.i.e. HT leads, coil packs or any other thing. Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi sorry forgot to say its a 1.9 tdi 2001 zetec we have changed everything we can and still got it cant get this one to fix so any ides will be greatfully received as i have done all the work on her and the parts fitted as told by others to do so dont know where to go with this apart from the dealer woooooossssh cash there smoggy Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Have you had it Rolling Road? Krypton Tunes are ok, but persoanlly I'd have mine on the rollers. I've had the Scirocco on the Rollers quite a few times for small problems and it's always come up trumps for me. Worth a shot before you start to pay more money for changes you may not need and it might pinpoint the problem straight away. Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi no we havent had it on the rolling road but i dont think that will provide us with the problem we think this is more of a fuel or temperture thing so only guessing here but its cost ing us money for it tho thanks smoggy Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi guys sorry i forgot to mention that a ford fitter came out with me to confirm the location of the sensor and he asked what trouble i was getting so i told him chuggs/jump in low gears he pointed to the diesel sensor and said this was common on the diesels so now the problem is do i go out and get that part now and try that more cash again how far do you go aint it eh well i dont know what you think mask if your about mate but can you find out some info on this for me plz thanks alot smoggy Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 At this rate you'll replaced the whole car and more than likely no nearer the solution. Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi mate, you are proberbly right but where do i go from here eh lol well pissed off now with it sorry for the lang but doing my head in now Quote
seatkid Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 he pointed to the diesel sensor and said this was common on the diesels :( What the hell is a "diesel" sensor? Did you redrain your fuel filter? You may have a lot of water in your fuel tank and water definitely does make a diesel hiccupp badly. You havent inadvertantly mixed petrol with your diesel? If it only started when you fitted a new MAF - then it must be the new MAF. Yes I know its the second one, but did you get it from a dealer? - Is it the correct one?IMO a lot of the cheap ebay MAFS are just cleaned or refitted with replacement sensors maybe not the genuine or correct ones. One last thing, its always a good thing to disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes after a MAF change - it dumps all the old MAF settings that way and retrains. Don't forget your radio code before you disconnect the battery though! Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi seatkid hows u mate, ok i got if from fmp in swansea it was the same part number and was a bosh make like the old one, yes my mate is a mechanic and has done all the changes to the car, no water in the fuel filter, yes i left the battery off when the maf was changed so no idea what this is do you think i should take the maf back ? smoggy oh the deisel sender or sensor is at the front of the engine green box in colour and is connected to the black fuel pipe that goes upto the filter thats what the fitter told me anyway also mate if it was the new maf i wouldnt have the power i got now which is excellent or would it be the maf? Quote
mumof4 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 ermm....totally unrelated, but i never disconnected my battery when i fiited my new MAF which i got off ebay and works a treat......... Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 7, 2006 Author Report Posted July 7, 2006 hi i did forget to mention that if the maf is disconnected the chugging aint there so i was kid of thinking to take it back and go to the dealer for one smoggy Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Just a quick thought. where are you?. I'd be happy to swap MAFs if you were near me, maybe someone else could repeat the offer if you were near. Unfortunately, I'm away for the next few days and may lose track of this but I'm 10 miles North of Worcester, or in Plymouth on and off for the next few weeks. Any good? - Mail me. Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 hi i am in swansea, went back to my mate for computer reading this morning after fitting the coolant sensor no faults were found, but he suggested that when i had the diesel filter changed it may not have been put on correctly , so is there a right or wrong way of putting on the pipes to the filter as i didnt see the guy fitting these i would know anyone think the same as i cant think of anything else if i got a picture of the pipes fitted to the filter would someone be able to tell if they are correct thanks smoggy Quote
seatkid Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006  I see a tall dark handsome stranger......but no picture..... I have not yet reached the status of clairvoyant member..... Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 hi seatkid ok this is the way its been fitted but when the old filter was removed i am possitive that the clip side was on the other side so not sure if this has anything to do with this filter or the trouble i am getting thanks smoggy Quote
smoggy7 Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 hello . anyone else care to comment on the filter picture is it correctly fitted ,and are the pipes in their right places by looking at the picture if you can im waiting on seatkid to come on to see it lol had enough now of this jerk/chugg/jump or whatever the blood thing is doing to me,it has only started doing this since the maf was changed so i think i will take itr back on mon and go to the dealer instaed that way i will know what i am up against anyone agree with me anyway thanks all smooggy Quote
