mikej Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Can anyone tell me if vagcom can be used on a 2001 galaxy , basically i am trying to locate an aircon fault after regassing i have a loud screaching noise when compressor kicks in and still no air con , the gas can be seen escaping from rear of engine bay somewhere ? if i drive car and then select the aircon this screaching noise is accompanied by a burning smell like a belt that maybe sliping also the load on the engine seems a little excessive and can be felt through the pedal .If the gas is removed altogether then this noise dissapears together with the burning smell .I'm thinking compressor and expensive however i have access to vagcom and was wondering if it would be of any use .Don't even know where to plug it in lol. NikpV Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I would also be thinking compressor - I assume with no gas the pressure switch tells the compressor not to bother (clutch not engaged) and so you dont get the screeching/smell - compressor seized ??  Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Yes, you don't need VAG-COM for that one, siezed compressor. Quote
