Can any of you experts tell me how the hell you get the dash clock assembly out (speedo/rev counter etc)

mk2 galaxy 2001 2.3 petrol

As my onboard computer has a life of its own ie sometimes its on and other times its off i would like to inspect the wiring /Cct board etc , what rules???????

Hi Mike.

I only queried it as I asked a question regarding the clocks some time ago and it was frowned upon.

 

You need to remove the upper & lower cowlings around the steering wheel and there will be 2 T20 screws facing forwards below the clocks, but are quite hidden unless you fix the steering column in the down position, although you will still need a long reach screwdriver.

 

When the screws are out you can use a flat bladed screwdriver to prize a gap open above the centre of the clocks, this will release the clip above the clocks allowing them to slide forward from the top down. Don't unplug the connectors though unless you are prepared to have to reset the warning indicators on the ECU as clock removal will flag up in the ECU.

At last onboard computer now working again as it should , removed clocks couldn't find a thing wrong , put clocks back and all is well ??????? :unsure: thanks for the tips on removal
