Guest Peter Crespin Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Hi - my first post- Hopefully you can improve on non-responding Mondeo Owners Club forum! :D 99 2.0L Ghia Estate auto 165K FSH. Has tow bar - so presumed history of at least occasional towing. Runs great, all fine except after a few minutes (or an hour or more) the OD light flashes and TC no longer locks up. I can fix this instantly by selecting Neutral, switching off the ignition and restarting the car, all whilst on the move in a kind of 'system re-boot'. Makes me think it's an electrical or control problem, not some fundamental hydraulic or autobox / torque converter problem, or why would it be curable so easily? At least until the next time - which again may be minutes or hours later on the same trip. So is there a wire or solenoid or connector or switch I can check/clean/fiddle with to see if it helps any? Apart form dropping out of lock-up there appears to be no other fault and the box is full of clean fluid etc. All help gratefully received, or suggestions of where to look for help. Haynes manual didn't seem much use but I may have missed something. Scared of a huge transmission bill, obviously - especially if it's not needed. Quote
