Guest BagPuss Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 (edited) Well another part done! :) Got another set of Hertz Speakers in! So thats's 6 and No I'm not fitting anymore! Although someone was asking about putting them in where the other factory fit ones went. :D So rather than try and cut the rear arch panels I went for the rear tail gate instead. They sit quite high in the panel and are bang in the center of each of the 2 rear seats. The Hertz Speakers are quite deep, so 10mm spacers were used just to raise them a little. Anyway here are a couple of pic's I've just taken. Oh and the Monitors are on route and should be here in a few days So hoping for a little time to fit them! Edited October 7, 2007 by NikpV Quote
cos 4x4 Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 i have done exactly the same as you matey have upgraded the speakers in the front doors to infinity 5 1/4" components 6.5" coaxials in the back doors and in the boot i have fitted infinity 6x9s in the boot door on 30mm spacers but wouldn,t recommend this as they still catch would have been better using a smaller not so deep speaker but the sound is great and i power all this off a kenwood mp3 head unit and an i pod through a kenwood interface and the boot speakers are powered by a sony amp under the drivers seat Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I didn't even think about going for 6x9's, as you say they are too deep for the rear. The 6" ones I fitted are about the limit with a spacer. I thought the rear tailgate would have a fairly deep cavity but its actually quite shallow. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 do you have a part number on the infinty frnt speakers you used did you use spacers on them also wht watts are they cheers Quote
cos 4x4 Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 hi mate there infinity 9603i 3 way speakers fitted on a 30mm spacer if you are thinking of doing this i would have a look in halfors and try and find a shallow fit speaker ie 6x9 or a 6.5" coaxial speaker as the above are just a little too deep but they do sound good amped up Quote
