jkspoff Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 I need to get a dog guard for the Gal, as I have been told we are getting a dog in August ! I have seen this one on ebay, but am unsure as to whether it will fit the mk2, as it states mk1, but surely they are the same fitment ? Anyone got a dog guard fitted, or anyone know anything about them ? :( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting Quote
Marky Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 Looks like it will do the job and is a good price at 60 quid but IT IS NOT A GENUINE FORD ONE.... just for starters they are black!!! here is a genuine one....it is listed as a vw sharan one but they are exactly the same and fit perfectly... VW Sharan Dog Guard Quote

VW Sharan Dog Guard If you read the bottom part it states it won't fit if car is fitted with climate control :D :D i wonder if they mean rear roof vented air con, might be worth giving them a bell 1st  Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Why would it effect normal CC? It has nothing in the back. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 It's only if you are going to fit it behind the front seats that you may have a problem with the a/c ducting Quote
jkspoff Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 Thanks, looks good, I may buy it, is the Alhambra slightly different for the grab handles that it attaches to ? and does anyone know how much they are from the dealer ? Quote
Marky Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Thanks, looks good, I may buy it, is the Alhambra slightly different for the grab handles that it attaches to ? and does anyone know how much they are from the dealer ? I did price one up when I first got the Gal and seem to recall that they are about 100 quid. Ford do a different one which has another mesh piece to seperate the rear space so you can put the dog on one side and luggage on the other without the worry of the luggage sliding around and hurting your pup...depends on the size of your dog though...I've got a St Bernard that kinda fills the whole of the back and couldn't get over the second row of seats for all the chews at Pedigree!! Might be worth a call to the dealers first though.... Quote
jkspoff Posted July 16, 2006 Author Report Posted July 16, 2006 Good old ebay came up trumps once again, I got a dog guard and its excellent, brackets fit behind the grab handles and there are 2 hooks that screw onto the chair fixings, very secure, custom made for the Galaxy/Sharan etc so fits perfectly.
