handy andy Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 I have a 2002 TDI. If the trailer wiring is not factory fitted, the only way of enabling the trailer indicator light is to have the dash module reprogrammed. This can only be done by a dealer with their diagnosis computer. Also when I had it done it took them three attempts to get it right. The first time they programmed it to use sensors that didn't exist and the second time didn't program it for some sensors. They tried to charge Quote
Guest JIMSTDI Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 cheers andy will ask about this when she goes in for service thanks james Quote

Guest emjay Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 I've been trying to get to the bottom of this debate for months - the main dealer keep saying the dash light cannot be activated but the TIS cd says it can. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Main dealer must be wrong (there's a surprise) as it's mandatory for the light/buzzer to work when trailer is connected - that is why the light is there in the first place. Car manufacturers would not waste money on fitting it if it were not needed.Back to the dealer you go.......Good luck. Quote
