OK, lets just say that we had had enough of all the problems with our Galaxys, I know most of us like them a lot and would probably buy another, but what else is on the market that comes close to what the Galaxy/Alhambra/Sharan has to offer ? You can discount the likes of Peugeots/Citroens/Renaults as these people carriers are like driving a mini bus, what I mean is something else that is so car like to drive, yet huge inside like the Gals ?????

I've just spent the last hour on autotrader web site looking to see if there is anything else, but I am struggling to come up with anything. I'm not getting rid of it, I just wondered.......

Mazda MPV is almost identical in size, but as rare as Rocking Horse wotsit. Bound to be reliable, but maybe not as nice to drive as a Gal. Or what about the 2001+ Previa ? that's bigger than the Gal.

The Kia Sedona has a thirst like a Veryon, and a seating quality like the Voyager and lumbers around like a drunken giant on steroids.

Mazda 5 is much smaller. The Mazda MPV is OK, not as good to drive and only available used but not many about. There is a new Sedona about to be launched in the UK, but personally I wouldn't have it - the new Ford S-max looks a better bet (the new Galaxy will be HUGE inside and out - over 5 metres long)

I've had a drive of the new smax and the new Galaxy.

Both a great looking and practical but the new double front roof columns really annoyed me and gave the impression of a massive blind spot.

The Previa was the closest thing I found and I've test driven quite a few mpvs over the past few months before settling on the Galaxy.

Just what we thought!

there is no other MPV i would rather have, overall, the galaxy and its sisters are the best.

i had a play in the pug/fiat "effort" and hated every Sq inch of it, and the sliding doors put me off. the non electric ones are VERY HEAVY, and difficult to open and close.

...and i don
