Guest RAV Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 Can anyone help? I recently purchased a radio/CD player for my focus. When I first fitted it , it worked perfectly but for some reason now it is not. When I fit the radio, the code message comes up, I try to put code in but buttons not working. Security panel fitted correctly and not loose. Tested the old radio that came with car and that works fine. Any suggestions as I purchased off Ebay. Quote

The make is a ford 6000 cd player made for the car and worked fine initially. I put stereo in on purchase and entered code and it worked perfectly cd and radio. Since then was driving listening to cd and decided to switch to radio. I then noticed that it would not switch over as if frozen or locked. I switched it off and switched back on but still only cd would work. I then took system out and put back in. It now asks for code but when i try to enter the number the keys are not responding and nothing can be used!! Thanks for your reply Quote
mumof4 Posted June 24, 2006 Report Posted June 24, 2006 gonna sound daft, but are all the connections in right???as far as they will go and in the right places???? iirc, if it is locked then you wont have radio or cd function. i would contact the seller and see what they say first. Quote
Guest EVSS Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 these units are prone to locking up, this may be the reason the unit was sold in the first place., have you checked that the code panel is correctly seated and the pads are clean? just a thought. Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 is the unit the one that holds 6 cds in the headunit Quote
gregers Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 try to clean the contacts of the panel and unit with meths or alcohol, also the copper(brass)contacts might not be connecting you might have to gently bend them.other then that no idea. regards gregers Quote
