Outer Cv Joint

I changed my outer CV joint (at last) today and it was a fairly straight forward job. I took a few photos so may write up on it later.

 

I changed it because the ABS ring was knackered. The joint was in really good nick otherwise, with little wear and still with a VW boot on it, although it had gone a bit hard.

 

The minute I went over about 20mph the ABS light went out and no fault code is stored.

 

It was 45 minutes from start to finish and involved removing the wheel and 3 bolts!

I've got a 2.3 Ghia X , S plate

My ABS light is constantly on so would it possible be the same issue that you had with yours?

All this ABS stuff is very new to me and I'm not sure of the first thing to look at

But any pointers :-)

Yip more than likely the ABS ring on the cv joint has snapped well thats what was wrong with mines :lol: changed the cv joint took it a wee run and hey presto the ABS light went out sorted!!
