Guest ANDY FITZGERALD Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003  Shame to see Rover So Low down Jim, as I live almost next door to the MG ROVER Longbridge Factory In Birmingham. Its Sad but they aint ever gonna be back in with a chance until megabucks are invested in new models, even then I aint sure if they can pull off the recovery. Guest ANDY FITZGERALD Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003  I was not a big fan of the BMW involvement with Rover either, should have gone to Honda who got quality of finish to the forefront at Rover... Still whats done is done... Interesting to see BMW only one place above ROVER ! Quote

Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Looks like some of my earlier replies regarding Leyland/Rover got censored..... I wonder how much vehicle reliability is affected by the owner/driver performing basic checks eg of oil level?I know of far too many company car drivers who never open the bonnet, so if their oil level falls too far, they blow the engine. You should see some of the statistics from some of the big fleet leasing companies. It's got so bad that some of them (most of them?) now include specific clauses in their leasing deals that if failure occurs because of driver failing to perform such checks, then the person/company running the car is liable for full cost of repairs. Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Best seller does not mean that the car is any good - distorted by fleet sales. For example, Peugeot 206 is reputed to be the top selling car bought with "private purchase" money (not that this means it's any good either!). Quote
NikNak Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Nor does this include 'pre-registering' vehicles, thus bumping up your sales figures (Ford, i believe are one of the worst offenders of this practice). Nick. Quote
