Failed Central Locking/indicators/hazards

I wonder if anyone can help with this - we are the owners of a 2003 2.3 Galaxy Auto Zetec - which so far has been relatively trouble free until .....

On may 30th it went in for a 30k miles service & MOT - my wife advised the delaership that she was having trouble unlocking the car with the remote .... later that day we were told that the service + MOT would cost

did they say why they had to replace fusebox, IIRC ther is a fuse in common between these 3 items

they was'nt able to say which piece of the box had gone - and I had a local mechanic check it out before I took it back to the delaership - and he checked the central locking fuse and it was OK ... I'm miffed about the money - but more scared - as the car locked with us inside it - basically the drivers door was the only one working - it was'nt the best drive of my life - having to load 3 kids + luggage through the front - then when they all started being sick later on ... I think this is the end of me and Ford ....
