Masked Marauder Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 A 512Mb stick is only about Quote
NikpV Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 I would too to give 768Mb but the cheapest option is buying a 256 making 512Mb Quote
NikpV Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 ddr2 is faster and I guess more expensive but your computer takes ddr Quote
mumof4 Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 ok.thank you both for all that info.....and bearing with me!! :P Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 ul Nik :P Marauder, I bow to your superior knowledge of computing history, and adjust my comment to "That wasnt even a high spec 3 years ago". I hope this is more pleasing to your ego ? I think it has more to do with it being less bruising to yours. Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 it is quite a high spec pc. (2.8 ghz pentium 4 with 1gb ram) ok that wasnt even a high spec 4 years ago  I think you will find that that was above top spec for a home user 4 years ago. The P4 2.8GHz was not released until the start of Q4 in 2002, mainstream channels were not supplied with them until early December 2002. And 512Mb of RAM was considered standard then. Was reading in PCFormat last week that the average home pc spec at the moment is a P4 2.4 Ghz with 512mb ram. So mine is still above average spec for the average home user now. Maybe it isn't high spec compared to yours, but still QUITE high spec (as stated in my original post) compared to most. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 16, 2006 Author Report Posted June 16, 2006 I think it sad when people think they are equivilent to their computer's processing power...... Quote

mumble_bee Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I'm quite shocked by that average spec. Ceph. My experience has been slightly different over the last few years. Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 MB..... Your experience mustn't be an average one then lol I think it sad when people think they are equivilent to their computer's processing power...... I think it sad when people think they are ONLY equivalent to their computer's processing power .... :( Quote
