greg_68 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I play a fair bit of online Poker for real dosh. Whilst surfing endlessly I have come across several sites/programs (I think one is called robo deal) that play your hands automatically and claim to know what the other players have and therefore winnings are multiplied. To all you out there that also play online has anyone real experience / tales of this. I am not naive enough to think that these all really work I just wondered if anyone had any tales. I will also wait for the inevitible responses of what a fix online poker is in general... an argument that will go on forever me thinks. I personnally do not think it is fixed....unless I lose of course. p.s i will be on Ladbrokes all night tonight. :D unless I lose all me money, in which case I will be on here tomorrow telling you what a fix online poker is. Quote
seatkid Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Online Poker Do You Think It Can Be / Is Rigged Definitely Yes/ Probably Yes I think you are reduced to (at best) fruit machine odds (i.e. controlled) and thats only with the reputable big boys. Anything is possible on the internet. Think ebay, think trojan, think keyloggers, think plain simple fraud. Play against a dealer/players/decks you can't see? If they wanted you would lose all the time but then you wouldnt come back for more. If you think you are playing solely against honest skilled players, think twice. Only play poker where you can see everything thats going on (i.e. round a table) Gambling has cost me and my family dear. I don't gamble but its cost me tens of thousands of pounds to put things right and theres still a mountain of debt left. Gambling can and does ruin peoples lives, I have first hand experience and that why this government make me want to explode with their super casino plans... I could go on and on but that would be reveal too much of my personal life. Think about it, the companies never lose. Quote
mumof4 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 All i can say greg that the fact that you asked suggests to me that you are thinking of getting a programm that can do this, i would say dont do it..i play texas hold em on line for play money..i would never even consider playing for real!!!there is the risk of the "just one more go" scenareo...I am quite content with my virtual 2.3 million squid..yes i wish it was real, but i would never do it for real...or even visit a casino...too risky for addiction!!!As with seatkid, i have had first hand experience where my brother nearly destroyed our family by his constant thieving from the family to pay for his gambling addictions. It is not pretty to see someone close groveling for money as he just couldn't stop. The ramifications are widespread. greg_68 Posted June 13, 2006 Author Report Posted June 13, 2006 SK, MO4. Thanks for the replies, a bit more serious than I was expecting but hey. I have never come into contact with a gambler where it has had such an effect as you 2 seem to have and so probably do not see the dangers as much. I consider myself to be very controlled, yes I do lose money, not a great amount and have been playing for real money for about 18 months and have never lost more than I expected/budgeted for. The way I see it is I don't drink, smoke or spend great deals of dosh on much else so I therefore see this as my treat and so don't really care about the money side as it is no worse than drinking it or smoking it away. MO4, I have no intention of getting the programs mentioned I just wondered if anyone had any dealings with them.I too played play money for about 2 years but soon got bored of players going all in with nothing because it didn't matter whether they won or not. I had $20 million on pokerroom and at one point was in the top 100 worldwide chips counts. If this is going to turn into a serious debate and maybe too close to home for anyone then please feel frre to delete the thread. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 We had a guy at work who was so addicted to gambling that he lost everything including his house and car. With him it was nay gambling, we had a couple of fruit machines in the canteen and he would put his wages into them too. I successful campaigned to have them removed. They were effectively rendering the canteen out of bounds to anyone with a gambling addiction. They should be banned from the work-place and chip-shops etc. Quote
Bigjeeze Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Greg The big boys don't cheat - But the others - Who regulates them? I agree with all that's been said - The Human condition is such that we will try for the easy win - always - Better not to be tempted. Ditch the machines - and enjoy life for real - not a conditoned atmosphere designed to take your money Quote
