I used mine, that I did get from Ebay, on the wifes Saxo the other day. It does do exactly what it says on thr tin (or in this case, box). So much easier than in the past and cleaner.

I realise that this has as much chance of taking place as the proposed meet up.

Wouldn't it be nice if enough people chipped in and bought it as a collective as I think

Mine arrived - Duly tested and works very very well!.. Probably got 3.7 ltres out - which seems reasonable - although with filter it uses 4 - so not too bad. :D

As for the suggestions to lend - Well there are a couple of options.

If you live near me you can come down and use it to change your oil  Or

When Mumof4 eventually gets us all together we can have an Oil changing party!!!!!

Mine got all 4.5 litres out after about 30 minutes, it did need 2 goes to remove all the oil, plus a second pump when it neared the bottom of the sump, I even sucked out the oil from the filter housing. The oil on the Gal is now clearer than it has ever been. You can actually hear it sucking out the last few drops. An excellent buy and highly recommended.

The old oil pours easily into the container that you used for the new oil, so you know exactly how much came out, in my case all of it. :P

I agree that it's a great tool - but I can't get get more than a litre out of my 2.3 petrol because of the obstruction. After that, all it does is slurp air, even after leaving it for a while - I can only assume the pipe is not at the bottom of the sump.

I can see that it's a boon for changing oil, but it looks like a no-go with the petrol. :P

I think, perhaps, this might be another reason (excuse) to get a diesel next... :D

Unless anyone has any ideas?

Not sure on this, but is it possible to push the tube down the oil fill section on yours, rather than down the oil dip stick hole. Just an idea, maybe it'll reach further down ??

Unfortunately the oil filler cap is on the cam cover on the 2.3 - I did have a poke about with the pipe but there's no path down to the sump. :(

Thanks for the suggestions. Not looking good, is it?

Well I used mine today for the first time. I don't know how much oil it took out as I did not measure it, but it took a little over four and a half litres to get to the maximum mark on the dipstick when I refilled it.

I managed to stay totally oil-free and was congratualting myself on that then I picked the suction pipe up and it sprung at me spitting oil as it went...... :D

Where's all the fun gone?

Doesn't anyone feel like crawling under the car and getting warm oil run up their arm anymore? :D

Err... not me, not anymore. I must be getting old... :D

If the thing actually worked in my car, I would have been very happy with it. It seems to be OK for people with the diesel Galaxys, so if you have one of these I can highly recommend buying/borrowing one.

If you have a 2.3 petrol, don't bother... :D
