jkspoff Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 If I change the batteries in my remote key fob will it loose the immobiliser code ? Plus on a completely seperate note, whilst changing the air filter I dropped one of the filter housing screws through the engine bay, I believe its kicking about on the engine tray, do you think it'll be ok down there until the next time it comes off, rather than messing about trying to fish it out ? NikpV Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 no but take too long and it will lose the remote code - mind you this takes 2 min to reprogram - see the faq guarantee it will work did it myself 2 weeks ago  Quote

dave_m Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 immobiliser is a passive device within the key, the remote battery does not power it, when my key came apart the little black "chip" fell out on to gravel it took me ages to find it. Quote
