tomy Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I have a mki with infra red central locking , which isnt brilliant and i am never sure if the locking has activated or not without checking a door , I want to add either a compatible alarm or something that flashes the indicators to let you know that the cenral locking is being opened or closed , Any one addded an alarm or similar also it might improve the range of my remote locking of the car because the infra red system has a very poor range as it is "line of sight" activated. Justice Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 If you get a small piezo sirren and conect it to the boot lock (you can do this behind the rear quarter panel on the right hand side, looking from the rear ) then every time you activate the locking the piezo will sound. Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Indicators flash on my Mk1 as standard when the remote locking is activated ?? Quote
Justice Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I forgot all about that, you can set the lights to flash with VagCom. Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Indicators flash on my Mk1 as standard when the remote locking is activated ?? Same here, Although it is a new alarm I had fitted. But I'm sure it did it before that. Quote
tomy Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 My indicators dont flash and i havent got vag com , A small piezo might be a good idea but I might get a compatible alarm because the remote key on my car has a very poor range as its inrfra red  Quote
tiny Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Quite a few people on here seem to be using the Cobra 1046 (not me though) It seem a popular choice and is reasonably priced (do a google), perhaps someone can tell you if it has an audible or visual warning. Quote
morticiaskeeper Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 The Cobra 1046 will flash the indicators Quote
