Guest thecodfly Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 hi all have just bought a remote locking kit from ebay have tried wiring up today but can only get the car to lock, cannot get to unlock, i have been trying to wire into rear tailgate connector, using the grey as my common wire, green as lock/unlock and red/black again to lock unlock, if i connect it to the motor wire it just locks the tailgate, i have also tried connecting the wires from the remote unit that should be the common to the positive feed of the car, any info would be helpful as i have now run out of spare fuses after blowing about 3, also i have a 98 r galaxy the controller is not under the passenger seat, and i cant seem to release the fuse box in order to get behind it.also on searching various posts i have come across photos of where to wire unit into, but on my car i found that the connecter circle does not appear to control my central locking as it only stops working when i pull another connector outi think that about covers my little problemregards waine Quote
Goofygolfer Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 dont know much about galaxy electrics but...thought you would have to tap into the locking motor for the driver or front passenger doors as they control the locking. dont think you can central lock from the tailgate?but then what do i know my diy experience into aftermarket remote locking is limited to a mk 3 scorpio. Guest thecodfly Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 thanks for the answer, the central locking all locks and unlocks with the key on the tailgate, just cant figure which wire would send the ublock signal, could not figure out how to wire up from the front two doors Quote
Guest EVSS Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 far easier to connect up in the drivers footwell. Quote

Guest thecodfly Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 have now managed to fit the remote unit, and it even works, i wired upto the tailgate switch, using the grey - lock , green - unlock and the red/white as a common then wired my live feed to the power output in the back left of the car, and earthed to the boot earth connecter, i hope this helps any one trying to wire up a cheap e bay unit.another note dont use cheap scotchblok connectors as this is why i had all the problems in the first place, in the end i did as another member did cut the insulating wire back and joined the wires that way, thanks all for the help and adviceregards waine :( Quote
