hi guys!

i have a sony XR 6759 fitted to my car....i'm about to buy the tools to take a sony out of its cage but was wondering whether anyone knew where to insert those tools.

cheers for the help!

iirc most of the sonys have a plastic surrounding edge that can be removed and the you stick them in the sides.. they work by then pushing them in, you will feel some resistence and then you should be able to remove it quite easily. this is due to the little 'hook' bits on the removal tool.

either that or im pretty damn wrong ;)

Sanjsanj

I am pressuming it has a removable front panel...

remove front panel

Insert Keys each side in slots

Pull whole unit forward.

The slots are not visible until you remove the front panel

IIRC the one Sanj is trying to remove uses a pair of flat keys into slots at the sides, just inside the bezel.

Ahh....should have read....sorry sanj, i have a 6006e ford unit with 4 holes in it to put thingies in to get it out,

Appologies! :D

thats ok.... :D

urm, i was wondering whether you could remove the stereo with anything flat or it had to have specific "notches" in it...

I have managed to do it with a couple of rigid cable ties but its more luck than judgement.
