raymac Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 was under the motor the other day and noticed a wire had been disconected from the heater under the car, would this be a quick main dealer fix as to sort out a smoking problem perhaps? Quote
NikpV Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 cheeky but possible  (assuming its the aux heater) Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Does the heater work? If you don't have the timer version one of the wires will be clipped anyway. Quote
raymac Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 yes it does look like it,s from aux heater and to the other reply  wouldn't have a clue  Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Well the timer version has a wire for a water pump. If you don't have the timer version this wire is not connected to anything but should have a resistor clipped into it. Quote
raymac Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 i think my original post was a bit short of the mark i should have explained it was not a single wire but a set of wires with a plug connector on the end with about 6/8 connectors on it :D i do apologise :D Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Well it certainly sounds like the loom connector for the booster heater. Not plugging it in would stop it smoking right enough! Quote
NikpV Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 connector is 8 way but with only 5/6 wires in it then - definitely the aux haeter then - plug it in short out the temp sensor and see :D Quote
