Towbar 2004 Galaxy - An Older Bar - Will It Fit?

Hi,

 

I've a 2004 Ford Galaxy and wish to fit a towbar on it and would prefer if possible to buy a s/hand bracket to save some money.

 

I see plenty on Ebay - I saw a 1999 bracket going quite cheap. Does anyone know if an older bracket from a 1997/98/99 Galaxy would fit a newer model. And if they've changed the shape of the vehicle, thus requiring a newer towbar, does anyone know what year things changed shape?

The shape changed in Sept/Oct. 2000. Try to find a towbar that replaces the interior bumper bar as these are usually the easiet to fit. You have to remove the bumper cover and then the towbar bolts in place of the bumper bar. Any bar from a Mk2 should fit. IIRC there have been discussions on here before about Mk1 bars fitting Mk2's, do a search on towbars but extend the search period. :) Andy.
