USMD - ford give it another name - can't remember, standard alarm is just repeated horn sound - dead dull :16: Quote

FWIWFord call their ultrasonic movement detector - perimeter and VOLUME sensing alarm check on their site under safety and security Yeaaah, about that......its not good news.I thought i'd set the alarm off to see if it works...got in car, shut door, pressed lock on key and then i was about to wave my hand over that speakerish cover on the pillar (like my 96 sharan has....) AND THERE WASN'T ONE :( :( :( I couldn't believe it!!! I thought if my sharan has it then so should this...WHAT THE F**K? Then i saw 2or3 small pieces of glass on the the floor....all the windows were ok so i decided to check if they were from the same company :( surprise suprise, the front passengers window had a differen name to the rest...it musthave been broken into while in with the previous owner. Now only if it had those alarms, it would have deters the thief..... This also means the alarm will only go off if one of the doors or bonnet or boot opens ..this car has DEADLOCKS, no ones gunna be able to open anything even if they smash a window SO WHATS THE POINT OF THE ALARM GOING OF IF ONE OF THE DOORS OPEN??? stupidstupidstupid WHY dont i have the ultrasonic detector? Quote
NikpV Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 WHY dont i have the ultrasonic detector? sorry mate no answer :( Quote

sanjsanj Posted May 28, 2006 Author Report Posted May 28, 2006 you HAVE to take the p dont you? it obviously deadlocks, its standard... Quote
NikpV Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 on the remote - first press locks - second quick press deadlocks and disables alarm - look at flashing led on the door Quote
sanjsanj Posted May 28, 2006 Author Report Posted May 28, 2006 on the remote - first press locks - second quick press deadlocks and disables alarm - look at flashing led on the dooryeh, i noticed this as well....now i always make sure that i press it once... the alarm only activates if the deadlocks are on. when it is activated, it will sound if one of the "doors" open. deadlocks stop any door opening from the inside or outside. so, to summarise: alarm on=deadlocks on dead locks on= no door can openno door can open= no alarm going off whats the point of the alarm then?
